The manufacturer is taking part in the event for the first time following the spin-off of parts of Voith’s drive technology division.
Highlights include the advanced and groundbreaking “DIWA NXT” automatic transmission and the “VEDS” electric drive system.
Driventic, which specializes in modern propulsion technologies for buses, trucks and off-road vehicles, will be taking part in Lat. Bus 2026, the leading mobility and transportation event across the Americas, to be held from 11 to 13 August at the São Paulo Expo in the state capital, where it will showcase some of its latest driveline solutions for commercial vehicles, such as the “DIWA NXT” automatic transmission and the “VEDS” electric driveline system.
This will be the company’s first appearance at a mobility and transportation event in Brazil following the spin-off of parts of the drivetrain division from the international technology group Voith, since November 2025. At its stand, located on Rua b-02, the company – whose main customers in Brazil include Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Trucks and Buses, and Volvo – will focus on its integrated systems and digital services.
“We are completely redefining efficiency and sustainability for commercial vehicles. We specialize in efficient propulsion and drive technologies. The basis for this is our future-oriented and customer-focused product portfolio for buses and trucks, as well as for off-road applications,” says Sebastian Busch, Driventic Global Vice-President of Communications
VEDS
The electric drive system (VEDS) is a bespoke, highly efficient propulsion solution for commercial vehicles, such as buses and lorries. VEDS is designed to reduce CO₂ emissions and protect the environment.
The first electric drive system to comply with functional safety (ISO 26262, ASIL C) and protection class IP6K9K, VEDS is suitable for all types of propulsion – whether battery-electric or fuel-cell – whether battery-powered or fuel-cell-powered, it offers up to 20% lower energy consumption, power output of up to 390 kW and torque of up to 3,100 Nm with the Heavy-Duty (HD) electric motor.
DIWA NXT
DIWA NXT is the latest generation of the tried-and-tested DIWA automatic transmission. Optimized efficiency is its key distinguishing feature, as it features a second overdrive gear, an independent retarder and an optional central energy recovery unit (CRU) with 48 V technology that keeps fuel consumption as low as possible in both city and long-distance coaches.
Developed for diesel, CNG, HVO, B100 and H2 engines, the DIWA NXT offers key benefits including an overall reduction of up to 16% in fuel consumption, up to 7% in transmission efficiency and up to 9% in hybrid system efficiency, with braking energy recovery via the 48 V mild hybrid system. The performance of the differential converter and retarder can be optimized independently.
