Model is a finalist in the Coach category of the European award
The Marcopolo Paradiso G8 1200 coach has been selected as a finalist for the Sustainable Bus Award 2027, one of the most important international awards focused on sustainability in public transportation. The model is competing in the Coach category, and the winners will be announced on September 23 during FIAA 2026 in Madrid, Spain.
Organized by the Italian publication Sustainable Bus, the award is the only European recognition dedicated exclusively to recognizing sustainable initiatives and solutions in the bus and coach industry.
The Paradiso G8 1200 is part of Marcopolo’s Generation 8 coach family, launched in 2021. Recognized for its high standards of safety, operational efficiency, comfort and design, the G8 family is present in around 20 countries and has surpassed 10,000 units sold across different markets worldwide.
The nomination comes at an important moment in Marcopolo’s European expansion strategy. Developed specifically to meet the technical and operational requirements of the European market, the European version of the Paradiso G8 1200 will make its official debut during FIAA 2026. Considered one of Europe’s leading passenger transport exhibitions, FIAA represents a key milestone in the evolution of the company’s European strategy, bringing together operators, partners, suppliers and industry experts in one of the sector’s most important and competitive markets.
“Being among the finalists of the Sustainable Bus Award 2027 is an important recognition of the quality, innovation and sustainability embodied in the Paradiso G8 1200. The nomination comes at a strategic moment for Marcopolo in Europe, as we continue to strengthen our presence on the continent and prepare for the official launch of the model developed specifically for this market during FIAA. This recognition reinforces the competitiveness of our offering in one of the industry's most demanding and relevant markets,” says Rodrigo Bisi, Marcopolo’s Commercial Operations Manager for Europe.
The Sustainable Bus Award evaluates aspects that go beyond energy efficiency and emissions. The jury considers criteria such as safety, comfort, noise levels, component recyclability, accessibility, technological innovation and manufacturers’ environmental commitment throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
Created in 2016, the award aims to encourage the evolution of the public transportation industry toward increasingly sustainable and efficient solutions. The jury is composed of specialized journalists from ten European countries: Germany, Spain, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Poland, the United Kingdom, Romania and Slovenia.
