MARCOPOLO SUPPLIES PARAGUAY WITH THE FIRST FRONT-ENGINE INTERCITY BUSES DEVELOPED IN ACCORDANCE WITH R66.02
Six new Viaggio G8 1050 buses delivered to Guaireña raise the standard of structural safety in the country’s intercity passenger transportation sector
Marcopolo expands its presence in the Paraguayan market by supplying the country’s first front-engine intercity buses developed in accordance with the international ECE R66.02 standard, currently one of the most advanced and stringent safety references for structural protection in rollover events. The six new Viaggio G8 1050 buses were purchased by the bus operator Guaireña and delivered this month through CIPAR, the brand’s representative in Paraguay.
The delivery reinforces Marcopolo’s position as a benchmark in innovation and safety for public passenger transportation in Latin America. The vehicles incorporate the structural concept of pass-through safety rings in all body pillars, a solution that provides greater structural integrity and resistance in impact and rollover situations, increasing the level of protection for drivers and passengers.

In addition to their advanced structural design, the new Viaggio G8 1050 buses were configured to provide high levels of comfort, convenience, and operational efficiency. The vehicles feature 44 semi-reclining seats, USB-A and USB-C ports for all passengers, an air-conditioning system with heating and fresh-air renewal, a restroom, a refrigerator, thermal containers, Wi-Fi connectivity, and an audio and video system with entertainment monitors.
The models also incorporate a system for reusing water generated by air-conditioning condensation, a solution that contributes to resource optimization and operational sustainability.
With more than four decades of history with Marcopolo, Guaireña is one of Paraguay’s most traditional intercity transportation companies and operates important routes connecting cities such as Villarrica, Asunción, Caazapá, Ciudad del Este, Yuty, and San Juan Nepomuceno.
